No 'fun' plans this weekend. We're going to finish up the basement remodel! Right now I am just waiting for the carpet dudes to show up. Dave is downstairs re-wiring things so we are pretty much on schedule.
The only thing out of sync is painting. We wanted to paint before carpet is laid but things just didn't work out as planned so we will have to paint very carefully!
I am super excited to have an actual living space down there and to have my very own laundry room! Before this remodel, the washer and dryer were down there, but they were on opposite sides if the main room and well, CJ used to build guitars down there, that was his shop. I had to step over power tools, wood and saw dust to get from the washer to the dryer. Not anymore!

Skatepark in Town
I have lived in this town all my life - then moved away for about 6 years and now I'm back. In that short span of time things sure have changed!
I drove by the min park area the other day and saw all kinds of skaetboard ramps - which I thought were just made y a bunch of kids. Turns out this area is being turned into an official skate park!
I personally think it's great to see soemthing like this go in. Maybe more and more kids will decide to skate and be outside rather than sit around on their butts and play video games!

Getting My Tooth Pulled
I am finally going to have this damn molar pulled and believe me, I am NOT looking forward to it. Well, really who does look forward to something like that? Trying to find an oral surgeon who wasn't too pricey was tougher than finding a Plano Cosmetic Dentist or something similar. However, that was back when I didn't have dental insurance.
Now that I have dental coverage, I just called the oral surgeon who removed my wisdom teeth years ago and he's going to remove this broken molar for me. My appointment is July 8th - wish me luck!

Asbestos Anyone?
So we've decided to finish the basement complete with a nice bathroom. The ids need a place to play and I need a place to actually work. Being in the same room with everyone just isn't conducive to working efficiently.
One concern I had was if anything down there was made of asbestos - since this is an old house. I mean, I am constantly seeing commercials about how mesothelioma and asbestos go hand in hand. Thankfully, we're in the clear but it was defintiely a scary thought!

Night Shift Stinks
CJ is on night shift from now until the end of August. I thought I'd be just fine. I'm not - I'm BORED and what do I do when I'm bored? I EAT.
I keep telling myself I just need to go to bed when I normally would but I don't. Nope, I wind up on the internet, working, browsing and socializing. Then, I eat. Ice cream, popcorn, a sandwich - I'm going to need a super strong diet pill to curb my appetite - or maybe I just need to go to bed and sleep on it!
